About the book:
Alif the Unseen is the new novel by local author G. Willow Wilson (Butterfly Mosque). In a Middle Eastern security state, Alif, a young hacker shields his clients—dissidents, outlaws, and other watched groups—from surveillance and tries to stay out of trouble. The woman Alif loves jilts him for a prince, and his computer is breached by the State, putting his clients and his own neck on the line. When Alif discovers the secret book of the jinn, which may unleash a new level of information technology, the stakes are raised and Alif must struggle for life or death, aided by forces seen and unseen.
